Nasci em 1971. A fotografia entrou antigamente na minha vida, não como um gesto de registo, mas como um espaço de experimentação e observação.
Sempre me interessou mais o processo do que a fixação do instante, a possibilidade de explorar o erro, o tempo e a matéria da imagem.
Ao longo dos anos, a prática manteve-se irregular e intuitiva, atravessada por períodos de silêncio e leitura. Muitas vezes, escolher não fotografar foi também uma forma de presença.
Entre a película, o laboratório e, mais tarde, o digital, foi-se afirmando uma relação livre com a técnica, assumida simultaneamente como ferramenta e como fim.Ao concluir o curso de Fotografia Digital Avançada no IPF – Instituto Português de Fotografia, aprofundei o trabalho com o uso de ficheiros RAW, a edição, a impressão e os suportes de apresentação.
O meu trabalho continua a desenvolver-se num território de experimentação contínua, onde memória, tempo e imagem se cruzam sem hierarquias fixas.
I was born in 1971. Photography entered my life somewhere in the past, not as a simple act of recording, but as a space for experimentation and observation.
I have always been more interested in the process than in capturing the instant, exploring the possibilities of error, the unfolding of time, and the materiality of the image.
Over the years, my practice has remained irregular and intuitive, intersected by periods of silence and reflection. Often, choosing not to photograph has been a way of being fully present.
Between film, the darkroom and, later, the digital medium, a free relationship with technique gradually emerged, understood simultaneously as a tool and as an end in itself.
After completing the Advanced Digital Photography course at IPF – Portuguese Institute of Photography, I deepened my work with RAW files, editing, printing, and presentation formats.
My work continues to unfold in a territory of continuous experimentation, where memory, time, and image intersect without fixed hierarchies.
